Graduate Program 2008/9
Recent graduates at Micro Focus get real-world employment experience that give you a competitive edge when you enter the workforce, and provides you with an opportunity to get familiar with the organization and business strategy of the Company.. Micro Focus is dedicated to helping the leaders of tomorrow develop their talents and career paths by providing an encouraging and collaborative working environment.
A step by step process
The selection process will give graduates a chance to show us what they are made of and what skills they have and us to verify is these match with the profiles we are looking for and trying to integrate. A first interview is with the line manager followed by an assessment which includes an interview with the HR BP a group or individual exercise and ability tests.
Here's how it works.
- submit your CV and introduction letter
- attend a first interview date
- after your first interview you’ll be asked to take some psychometric tests
- introduction to the line manager
- attend assessment day
- receive an offer and enter MF graduates program
- complete and submit your CV
On our site graduates you can select in which area you are interested working and which route you would like to follow. Please submit your CV and a brief introduction letter to us. Micro Focus HR team will aim to review applications and get back to you within 15 working days. - attend a first interview
This is an introduction interview with the HR Business Partner at one of our offices, in this first interview the HR BP will display information about Micro Focus Company Culture and Values and will give you a chance to display your qualities and capabilities. The HR Business Partner will look for evidence of the skills and verifying the interest of a Micro Focus career. - take some tests
After your introduction interview with the HR Business Partner, you will have 40 minutes to take some skill tests. These could be numerical, logical or verbal depending on the business/development area you have chosen. - Interview with the line manager
While your skill tests are being sorted out by HR, you will have the opportunity to meet the line manager of the area you have chosen to apply. During this interview you will have the chance to understand more about the operational part of the job and get a glance day-by-day reality within Micro Focus. - attend an assessment day
Finally you will be invited for a final interview in which with the HR Business Partner you will go through your test results and any further questions; - receive an offer and enter Micro Focus Graduates Program
The whole process from application to offer should take no more than three to six weeks.
Types of tests
Psychometric tests
During the first interview you will receive 40 minutes to complete two type of tests
Group exercises
A group exercise allows us to see how people perform when working in a team. E.g. Give them a pack of information and ask them to use it as a team to come up with solutions to a range of issues. This type of simulation allows to demonstrate communication and influencing skills, teamwork, the ability to manage a project and deal with changing priorities.
