MICRO FOCUS APPOINTS JORGE DINARES AS VICE PRESIDENT OF SALES FOR EMEA, LATIN AMERICA AND ASIA PACIFIC

-Experienced Executive to Further Strengthen Global Sales-

NEWBURY, England, 7 October, 2008 – Micro Focus today announced the appointment of Jorge Dinares as Vice President of Sales for EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific. With more than twenty years of experience leading successful sales teams across multiple geographies for international technology companies, Dinares will take responsibility for all Micro Focus’ sales, services, channels and marketing operations in these geographies.

The other two geographies are North America and Japan.

Prior to joining Micro Focus, Dinares was CEO at Panda Securities, a leading provider of international security solutions with presence in 56 countries and operating in 23 languages. Before this, Dinares spent 12 years at BMC Software in a succession of leadership roles, most recently as Global Vice President for Growth and Emerging Markets, leading the fastest developing regions of the business in EMEA, Latin America and US, and achieving 40% growth rates for this newly created business unit. Other roles at BMC included Vice President of Southern Europe and Vice President of Professional Services. Dinares also spent nine years at Oracle, and was a key member of the team that founded the company’s Spanish subsidiary, where he went on to lead successful sales teams.
