Micro Focus Appoints David Taylor As President Of Asia Pacific & Japan  

New appointment to spearhead regional expansion 

NEWBURY, England, Friday 3 July 2009 — Micro Focus® (LSE.MCRO.L), the leading provider of enterprise application management and modernisation solutions, today announced the appointment of David Taylor as President, Asia Pacific and Japan. With over fifteen years of executive experience, Taylor will spearhead Micro Focus’ aggressive growth strategy in the region.

Taylor’s appointment follows a number of strategic client wins in the region, including Insular Life in the Philippines, United Overseas Bank in Singapore, Citic Kah Wah Bank in Hong Kong and the China Construction Bank. The appointment also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Micro Focus’ subsidiary in Japan in 1984. Taylor will be based in Singapore, and will report directly to Marc Andrews, Executive Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing for Micro Focus. Hiroshi Tajima (Country Manager, Japan), Stephen Chan (Director of Sales, APAC) and Keith Mante (Country Head, Australia) will report directly to Taylor.

Most recently, Taylor served as Managing Director of Indigo Pacific based in Sydney. Prior to that, he held executive roles at Saba, Integrated Research, NetIQ Inc, Azure Wireless and Compuware. As Regional Director for NetIQ’s Australian/New Zealand operation (2003-2006), Taylor more than doubled revenues across all product lines and was later promoted to Regional Director for the Asia Pacific region. As Regional Vice President for Latin America, Middle East & Africa at Compuware (1999-2001), Taylor oversaw revenues in excess of $22 million and achieved a 590% improvement in direct profit against the previous year.
