Deciphering the Hewlett-Packard COBOL Version Numbers

As Hewlett-Packard customers begin their transition to the Micro Focus COBOL support and products many questions arise about the comparable product numbers and versions. Until the advent of the Server Express product, all HP products were known by their "B" numbers, or Build numbers. This document provides a cross reference of the Hewlett-Packard product version information to the corresponding Micro Focus product information.

The Hewlett-Packard product version numbers are based upon the operating system and the product that runs on a particular set of hardware. For example, B.13.vv represents the Object COBOL product which runs on HP-UX 11.0/11i, whereas B.12.vv represents the Object COBOL product that runs on HP-UX 10.20.

Following is a comparison list of the Hewlett-Packard OEM product versions and their corresponding Micro Focus product versions.
