Health and Wellness
Medical Coverage
Employees have the option of choosing to join the medical plan or opting out of the health plan. A monthly opt-out benefit is paid to those employees that have comparable coverage elsewhere.
Domestic partners may be covered under all health plans. Dependents are covered until age 25 regardless of student status.

Vision Coverage
Dependents are covered until age 25 regardless of student status.

Dental Coverage
You may elect dental coverage without participating in a health plan.
Domestic partners may be covered under the dental plan. Dependents are covered until age 25 regardless of student status.
- Plan pays a maximum benefit of $2,000 per year
- $25/$75 plan year deductible
- Preventative services are covered at 100% in or out of network (not subject to deductible)
- Basic services are covered at 90% in network and 80% out of network
- Major services are covered at 60% in network and 50% out of network
- Orthodontia is covered, regardless of age, at 50% in or out of network
- Lifetime Orthodontia benefit is $2,000
Income Protection
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Employees are eligible to fund, on a pre-tax basis, up to $3,500 per year for qualified healthcare expenses and $5,000 per year for qualified dependent care expenses.
Life/AD&D
Micro Focus provides this benefit at no cost to the employee.
- 2 x annual salary benefit to a max of $500,000
- $5,000 benefit for spouse
- $2.500 benefit for children
Supplemental Life
Employees may purchase additional life insurance up to 5 x salary to a max of $500,000. Coverage may also be purchased for spouses and dependent children.
Travel Accident
Employees receive a $200,000 business travel accident benefit. Micro Focus pays 100% of the cost.
Short-Term Disability
Benefit amount range from 60% to 100% depending on length of service. Benefits are payable for 3 months. Micro Focus pays 100% of the cost.
Long-Term Disability
Employees receive 60% of their monthly salary to a maximum of $10,000 per month for covered illnesses resulting in total disability. The disability benefits received are tax-free to employees. Micro Focus pays 100% of the cost.
Long-Term Care
Micro Focus provides employees a base benefit of $48,000 at no cost. Employees may purchase additional benefits for themselves and for other family members. This coverage is portable.
Sick Leave
Employees are eligible for 10 days of sick leave per year.
Wellness Benefit
To aid employees in maintaining good health, employees are eligible for an annual subsidy.
- The plan pays 80% of covered expenses up to $300/employee
- Covered expenses include-gym or fitness memberships, fitness classes, weight loss programs, wellness programs, smoking cessation programs, chiropractic maintenance, flu shots and alternative healthcare.
Financial Security
401(k) Retirement Savings Plan
Through the 401(k) retirement plan, employees may contribute up to 60% of eligible pre-tax compensation. Eligibility is immediate. Micro Focus matches 50% of the first 6% of employee contribution for a maximum match of 3%. The company match vests at 25% per year from date of hire. Plan also features a Roth 401k. The plan is administered by Fidelity Investments
Employee Stock Purchase Plan
Employees are eligible to share in the success of the company. Through payroll deductions, employees may purchase company stock at 85% of market value
Work/Life Balance
Adoption Assistance
Micro Focus provides adoption assistance benefit of $5,000 per child with a $10,000 lifetime maximum.
Legal Plan
The legal plan provides assistance when you have a legal need that requires legal advice, document review and preparation, or legal representation, you can meet with an attorney to get the legal help and protection you need. The following services are 100% paid in full when you work with a participating attorney.
Additional legal representation is available at a 25% discount.
Health Advocate
Health Advocate provides support to employees, spouses, dependent children, parents and parents in-law by an assigned Personal Health Advocate, typically a registered nurse. They provide clinical support to find best doctors and hospitals, research treatments and identify “best-in-class” doctors and medical institutions. Their administrative support assists in resolving insurance claims and helps obtain approval from insurance companies for needed services. Their health coaching services help prepare patients for visits with physicians and answer questions and provide information on medical terms, tests and treatments.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
A confidential, free, 24-hour counseling and referral service is available for employees and their immediate family members. Assistance is available for child and elder care, alcohol and drug abuse, stress, grief and loss, personal finance, legal, and concierge services.
Travel Assistance
A travel assistance program, available 24/7, is provided to all employees and their family members at no cost. This service provides emergency medical and legal services as well as emergency evacuation.

Employees enjoy 10 designated paid company holidays and one paid day of choice each year.
Vacation
Micro Focus recognizes that everyone needs a little R&R. Vacation time is granted on a fiscal year basis (May 1 - April 30) and is based on length of service as follows:
A maximum of 5 days may be carried over and used during the first quarter of next fiscal year except in California. In California hours accrue until the maximum accrual is met.

Tuition Reimbursement
