General overview of the role
We are looking for a number of self-motivated graduates and/or software engineers with aspirations to be the very best they can be, to join our Product Development Team at our Newbury office in the UK. Within a flexible and informal working environment, we are structured into small, functional teams of highly creative individuals. Our development people not only include many of the industry’s most gifted and innovative minds, but also enjoy a great team spirit engendered by the relaxed, professional atmosphere.
Job responsibilities and duties
Our development teams work on a very broad range of operating systems, technologies and languages. Technologies include contemporary application frameworks such as those found on IBM z/OS, Microsoft Windows & .NET and J2EE platforms by Sun et al. As well as proprietary IDE tooling, we also develop our products in Visual Studio and Eclipse. Languages used include COBOL, Java, C/C++ and C#.
There are several teams each with specialised skills, including language parsing/compiler/run-time technology, transactional execution environments, integrated development environments, middleware/communications, mainframe sub-systems, database systems, application analysis, and application extension & generation.
Vacancies currently exist in the language parsing/compiler/run-time technology areas.
Skills and experience required for the position
A solid grounding in fundamental computer science, with academic or practical programming experience.
Good problem solving abilities, with strong logic and reasoning skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills to form part of a dynamic, distributed team.
Self-motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic to be able to adapt to the rapidly changing demands within the IT marketplace.
Experience or potential ability to lead a development team.
