Micro Focus RUMBA 8 and Windows 7
As with past Windows operating system upgrades and service pack updates, Micro Focus continues to ensure compatibility with our terminal emulation solutions to deliver a smooth transition for our customers. Windows 7, released in October 2009, is no exception.
Windows 7 is a revolutionary operating system upgrade, set to see large scale adoption amongst users over the next 12-18 months. Enhanced usability and performance are cornerstones of the Windows 7 operating system and all aspects of the computing experience have been enhanced.
At Micro Focus, we place a great deal of significance on understanding how customers use our products and it’s with this understanding that we have been able to help them become more productive. Making sure that our customers can keep up with operating system upgrades and service pack updates helps eliminate performance and stability issues that may otherwise arise, maintaining mission-critical reliability throughout the transition.
RUMBA 8, the next generation of our premier terminal emulation suite was released on December 7 2009. Working with Microsoft, Micro Focus developers have been introducing components in RUMBA that take advantage of the new and exciting capabilities of Windows 7.
RUMBA 8 leverages all the usability elements of Windows 7, allowing customers to further increase productivity among end users. Additional benefits of using a Windows 7 certified product like RUMBA 8 will be more natural user interaction with features like a new taskbar and extensible ribbon interface. Users will also enjoy enhanced reliability and deployment tools that RUMBA now takes advantage of.
