Field Developed Solutions
Micro Focus’ flagship products are being developed, updated and enhanced constantly, but even the most proactive development efforts cannot address every unique technical requirement that our clients may encounter during each specific migration or modernization project.
Micro Focus’ Professional Services teams around the world encounter such challenges regularly as they are constantly involved in supporting customer solution delivery projects. If Micro Focus encounters requirements which for any reason cannot be addressed by core product functionality, our Professional Services team may be able to create what we refer to as Field Developed Solutions (FDS).
These FDS are used to overcome challenges which might otherwise be obstacles to project progress, or which can impact delivery timeframes. These FDS use the very latest Micro Focus technology and are built by product and customer experts, tailored directly for a specific client need. FDS are regularly maintained and enhanced in response to new and changing customer requirements.
For example, certain Job Scheduler vendors have worked with Micro Focus development to integrate their scheduling technology within Micro Focus Server Enterprise Edition. Other vendors have not completed such integration, so if there is a need for integration with such a scheduler then this integration must typically be built by the systems integrator or customer staff involved in the project. Micro Focus Professional Services has created configurable FDS which enables basic integration with any job scheduler to be accomplished rapidly.
