Welcome to EuroSmart, the add-on to Revolve Enterprise Edition that analyzes applications involving monetary transactions and simplifies converting your applications to handle the Euro.
To understand the architecture of the products within the whole MERANT Revolve Transformation Product Suite, please see the chapter Understanding the Revolve Transformation Product Suite in your Revolve Enterprise Edition Getting Started. This explains which features are contained within which product, and how this affects your use of the different products and options, if at all.
This Getting Started book is an addition to the Getting Started for Revolve Enterprise Edition. We assume you have read that book first. You should read the tutorial chapter in this book as an additional chapter for that book.
EuroSmart adds the following to Revolve Enterprise Edition:
Additional analysis tools provide input to the effort estimation workbooks.
The analysis tools are supplied with country-specific settings, which encapsulate our local knowledge and give you reliable defaults. The Configuration Wizard enables you to amend the country-specific settings to suit your own application, country and organization.
When you convert monetary amounts between two participating EU member state currencies, you must first convert the first currency to Euros, and then from Euros to the second currency. Routines that perform this dual conversion are called "triangulation routines".
We supply a sample conversion routine in COBOL source code so that you can use these or adapt them as required in your applications. The source code is located in \tps\samples\euro\triangul.
