Changing the IP Address of a Master or Worker Node
You can assign a master or worker node a new IP address by deleting the node, and then re-adding the node with the new FQDN.
To change the IP address of a master or worker node:
- Note the FQDN, current IP address, and new IP address of the node for which you wish to assign a new IP address.
- Log in to the CDF Management Portal (
https://<ha-address>:5443). - Click Cluster > Nodes.
- Click + Add.
- Next to the node for which you plan to change the IP address, in the Operations column, click Delete.
- Enter the username and password/keyphrase to confirm node deletion. Remain on the page and verify that the node has been deleted. Give the process time to complete.
- Outside of CDF, perform the necessary changes within your network administration or host settings to change the old IP address of the node to the new IP address.
- In the CDF Management Portal, on Cluster > Nodes.
- Click + Add.
- Enter the FQDN of the node which you are re-adding.
- Enter values for the pop-up dialog as prompted. For host name, use the new (existing) FQDN of the node you deleted in Step 5.
- Click ADD, and then wait for the confirmation that new node has been added to the cluster.
- Ensure that you add the appropriate labels to the node that you re-added.
