Change Location type

This function allows you to change the location type of an existing location, or for multiple locations, for example, change a Position to a Person.

1. From the Search menu, select Find Locations.

   The Search for Locations dialogue appears.

2. Select the required Location search method and type in the search criteria, and then click OK. A list of all Locations matching the search criteria appears.
3. Tag the Locations whose location type you want to change, right-click and click Change Location Type.

   The Change Location Type dialogue appears. Select All Tagged Rows to apply the change to all selected Locations and then click OK.

   The Change the Location Type dialogue appears.

4. Select the options to be changed for the selected location(s):
• Select New Location Type - select this option to change the existing location type to a new one. From the drop-down list, select the new location type to apply to the selected location(s).
  

  NOTE: When changing a location type from a Person type to any other location type, the Personal Details values, such as Date of Birth, will be lost when the location type is changed.
  If a location type has Additional Fields associated to it unless the new location type has the same Additional Fields, the values will be lost when the location type is changed.
  

• Change 'Internal' status indicator - select this option to change the 'internal' status of the location. Select from Internal or External.
5. Click OK to apply the new values to the selected Location(s).
