Managing Locations

You should review the Location structure regularly, especially when names change, sections merge or when new ones are created.

Over time, a Content Manager dataset may contain Location types called Unknown.

The Content Manager administrator should search for and remove or replace Unknown Locations with correct Locations - see Removing Locations - or modify them to have additional details - see Modifying Locations.

  1. Select Search - Find Locations.

    The Search for Locations dialogue box appears.

  2. Select the Filter tab
  3. Clear all the Location type filters except Unknown selected.
  4. Click OK to display all Unknown Locations
  5. Perform the necessary maintenance on the list of Locations

A Content Manager dataset can contain the Location type Group - see Location types - and the administrator should maintain these:

  • Check Location status within your organisation
  • Remove inactive Locations from their groups, if necessary
  • Add new members to the groups

Searching for Group Locations

  1. Select Search - Find Locations.

    The Search for Locations dialogue box appears.

  2. Select the Filter tab
  3. Clear all the Location type filters except Group
  4. Click OK to show all Group Locations
  5. Perform the necessary maintenance on the list of Locations
