Name tab
- To display the Name tab, select Search - Find Locations.
The Name tab in the Search for Locations dialogue appears.
If you cannot see the Name tab, use the Editor button at the bottom of the dialogue to select the multi-field search editor.- Locations with name matching - search for any name matching what you type in the field.
You must use a wildcard character in this field, e.g. barnes*.
- Combine one or more of the following name fields - select the following:
- Name - surname or whole name (surname, first name) of the Location you are searching for
- Unique Name - unique name or nickname of the Location you are searching for
- Last Name - surname of the Location you are searching for
- First Names - first name of the Location you are searching for
- Initials - initials of the Location you are searching for
- Locations with name matching - search for any name matching what you type in the field.
NOTE:
- Fields with an asterisk (*) use wildcard searching. You can use an asterisk at the start, end or on both sides of what you typed.
- For last name prefixes followed by an apostrophe (for example, x'), it is essential that you put a space between the prefix and the last name, or Content Manager will not find the Location.
If you searched using a last name prefix of X' or 'X and last name, the results would include names of format X', 'X and X.
Essentially, Content Manager ignores the apostrophe.
For example, a search for s' Berg will return:
- s' Berg, Fred
- s Berg, Fred
- 's Berg, Fred
- S' Berg, Fred
- S Berg, Fred
- 'S Berg, Fred.
