Action tracking administration

Action tracking is a Content Manager function to trace the flow of records within your organisation.

You can assign an Action (single task) or a Procedure (sequence of tasks) to a record.

Each Action is composed of:

  • Description
  • Due Completion date
  • Cost (optional)

Action tracking can help you track and manage the Location, status and cost of work performed in relation to any record.

Records suitable for tracking include:

  • Complaints
  • Representations
  • Requests for information
  • Submissions

Content Manager expands the concept of Workflow by dividing the functionality into two separate modules:

  • Action tracking - this module provides the functionality present in previous versions of Content Manager. It enables you to carry out basic tracking of the flow of records for your organisation.

This module is record-centric - Actions and Procedures can be attached to individual records.

  • Workflow - this module expands on the Action tracking module by allowing multiple streams of a particular Workflow, Workflow rollback and other features not available in Action tracking.

This module is Workflow-centric - for example, multiple records can be attached to Workflows.
