Electronic documents and Date Created
When you check in or attach an electronic document to a record in Content Manager, by using the option Change Date Created to Document Date, you can choose to set the date created of the document in Content Manager to be taken from the date of the document.
If this option is not selected, then Content Manager will set the date created to the current date at the time of checking it into Content Manager.
- When creating a record using dragging - Content Manager uses the date the electronic document was created
- When creating a record using a New Record form that uses both DOS file and Date Created fields - Content Manager uses the field Date Created field on the New Record form
- If a user modifies the date in the Date Created field after first selecting the electronic document, then Content Manager uses the new date when saving the record without prompting
- If the user does not select an electronic document and does not enter a date in the Date Created field, then Content Manager uses today's date
- When you remove the electronic document from the record in Content Manager, Content Manager will not change Date Created
