Home and Owner fields

If a Record Type is set up so that a user cannot modify the Owner or Home Location in the Record Type - Menu page, then Content Manager will prevent the user from modifying these fields on records of this Record Type.

This rule however does not apply to these fields when they are on a New Record form.

If they are, the user can set their values when creating a new record.

You can prevent the user from setting or modifying the Home and Assignee, but not the Owner Location value when creating a record by configuring the field properties on the form to be Read Only.

This will ensure that Content Manager uses the Record Type defaults.

The user will still able to change the Locations after creating the new record using right-click Location.

If you want to prevent the user from moving Locations for the record after creating it, remove the permission from the Record Type Properties - Menu page.
