Changing the Classification of a record
- Search for the record(s) whose Classification you want to modify
- Right-click the record and select Details - Classification.
The Classification dialogue box appears.
- Select Change Classification

If you want to remove the attached Classification, select Remove Classification
- Click KwikSelect to choose from the list of Classifications
- Upgrade Record Schedule to match new Classification - updates the record's Retention Schedule to match that of the new Classification
- Select Change Classification
- Click OK
If the record was created using Classification numbering or titling, the Classification dialogue box will contain the record's Classifications.
You can change the display - delete what you typed first and then click KwikSelect to see all available Classifications.
NOTE:
- Selecting a different level will change the record's number
- If the record was created using a Classification for the title and number, then Remove Classification will be unavailable
- If the Record Type is not set to use Classification titling - that is, the record only has a Classification attached - Upgrade Record Number to match new Classification will be unavailable
- Updating a record part number using the Change Classification function - if the record belongs to a sequence of parts, you will need to use the Update Parts function.

If you have tagged multiple records to attach or change their Classifications, Content Manager will present the Yes to All dialogue box.
When you click OK, the Classification - All Tagged Records dialogue box appears.
- Change Classification - select to make the Classification field available
- Classification - type or click KwikSelect for the Classification you want to use
- Upgrade Record Schedule to match new Classification - updates the record's Retention Schedule to match that of the new Classification
- Remove Classification - removes the Classification from the record
