Merging Thesaurus terms

Thesaurus terms are usually merged when an older term is superseded by a newer term.

1. Click Manage - Thesaurus Terms and right-click the Thesaurus term you want to merge to another term
2. Click Merge.

   The Merge Term dialogue box appears.

   • In the KwikSelect field, either type the term you want to merge with or use KwikSelect to select from the list of available Thesaurus terms
   • Modify all Records that are titled using the Thesaurus term to be merged - select if you want to modify the titles of all the records that have been created with the term to be merged.

     If this is not selected, then only attached terms will be affected.

   • Click OK to start the merge process.

     The Thesaurus term merge term process will:

     • Change all the term links for the first term to the second term
     • Reindex all affected titles
