Dataset properties

The File - Open Dataset - Properties dialogue enables you to set the main and alternative Workgroup Servers for the Content Manager client

  • Primary Content Manager Workgroup Server - default Content Manager Workgroup Server for the client computer (required)
  • Backup Content Manager Workgroup Server - optional - Content Manager Workgroup Server for the client computer to connect to at startup if the primary Workgroup Server is not detected.

The backup Workgroup Server must be able to connect to the client's default dataset type, for example, Oracle drivers and configuration.

Content Manager searches for a backup Workgroup Server when the primary server is unavailable.

It will switch over if you are running Content Manager connected to the primary Workgroup Server and it fails while you are connected.

It will also switch back when the secondary server fails and the primary server is available again.

  • Authenticate Using- select from the available authentication methods defined in Content Manager Enterprise Studio.
  • Enable Transport Level Compression - select this option to enable the compression setting for the RCF connection to the Workgroup Server.
