Security Guide Entries administration
You can apply Security Guide Entries to records so that their default security settings override those on the record.
That is, a record can be declassified and / or have its security details downgraded according to the defaults set up in the Security Guide Entry that is applied to it.
- Declassify means changing the security level of a record from Classified to Unclassified - for example, Confidential to Unclassified.
- DoD 5015.2 - Security Classified Records - the US DoD United States Department of Defense standard has software requirements for the handling of classified records.
In this context, classified means a security classification.
- DoD 5015.2 - Security Classified Records - the US DoD United States Department of Defense standard has software requirements for the handling of classified records.
- Downgrade means changing the security level of the record to a lower level - for example, Top Secret to Restricted.
The Security Guide Entries functionality can be activated and deactivated by using the feature in Administration - System Options - Features page, Classified Security.
NOTE: As required by DoD 5015.2, when setting up or changing the Security Guide, a security user can see, select and create any security classification regardless of their current security classification.
