Thesaurus shortcut menu

The shortcut menu specific to Thesauri, available from Thesaurus windows and dialogue boxes:

  • New Thesaurus Term - to create a new Thesaurus term.

  • New Narrow Thesaurus Term - to create a new narrower term from the selected Thesaurus term.

  • New Use For Thesaurus Term - to create a new Use For term from the selected Thesaurus term.

  • Related Thesaurus Terms - to view and modify Thesaurus term relationships.

  • Merge - to merge the selected term with another Thesaurus term.

    See Merging Thesaurus terms.

  • Notes - add Notes to the Thesaurus term.
  • Set Active Date Range - set the dates the Thesaurus term is active for. See Active dates for items.
  • Security/Audit -

    • Security/Access - modify the Access Controls for selected Thesaurus Terms.

    • Default Record Security/Access - modify the default record Security and Access Controls that will be applied to all records created using the selected Thesaurus Terms.
    • Copy Security/Access From - copy the security/access control settings from another Content Manager object of the same type being modified.
    • View Rights - displays the security and Access Controls set for the selected item, generic permissions for the current user and allowed tasks for the selected item.
    • Active Audit Events - to view the events that have occurred on the selected items, e.g. its movement history, as well as modifications and security breaches etc.
  • Reindex - to reindex all occurrences of the selected Thesaurus term.

  • Delete - to delete the selected Thesaurus term.

  • Show Records - click to display all records that have the Thesaurus term associated to them.
  • Property Editor - click to display the Property Editor and update Thesaurus term properties. See Property Editor.
  • Properties - to view and/or modify the Thesaurus term's properties.

    The same dialogue box and tabs display as when creating new terms.

You can right-click related Thesaurus terms for the commands:

  • Select - selects the term in the Term list
  • Remove Relationship - removes the relationship between the related term and the term in the Term list
  • Insert - attaches the term to the selected record
