Transferring records out of storage

  • You can move a record out of storage and into circulation by changing a record's Assignee Location or by using the Space management system's right-click - Transfer - To Location option.

When a record is moved out of storage - that is, its Assignee Location is changed - it retains the storage information in its Home field, for example, Floor 1, Shelf 1 etc.

This ensures that when it is returned, you can locate its original location within the storage system.

  • To return a record to the storage facility, use the right-click Location function and make Assignee the same as Home. This returns the record to its original location in the storage facility.

NOTE: Destroyed records in the Space Management system - if you have records located in Space management that have been destroyed, you will be unable to change those record locations. Instead, use the right-click Recalculate option to reclaim space for records that have been destroyed. You will be prompted with a confirmation message. When selected, any records within the Space that have been destroyed will have their Home Location set to Destroyed. It is advisable that the records be moved out of the Space management system prior to destroying.
