System Options Miscellaneous page
IMPORTANT: If your organization or service provided has opted to use the Content Manager Administration client, not all Miscellaneous options will be available in the Content Manager client. Options marked with a * will only be available in the Content Manager Administration client.See the Content Manager Enterprise Studio - Dataset setup and maintenance - Content Manager Administration client help for further information.
The Miscellaneous page enables you to set a number of options, among them certain container, fiscal year and timezone options.
- Prevent Records that behave as a document from being directly filed under a Classification - not selected by default. When this option is selected, Document Record Types will not be available when users are creating a new record within a Clasification browser.
NOTE: Users can still attach Classifications to documents when the Record Type is explicitly configured to allow Classifications to be attached. Examples of Record Type configurations that allow this, and hence override the above mentioned System Option:
1. Classification titling method
2. Starting classification
3. Numbering based on Classification
4. Classification field on record entry form
-
Automatic vital record review and update - for information about vital record review and update, see Scheduled tasks.
- Send notifications when users change their local preferences - off by default because notifications have an impact on a network. A message is displayed notifying you if you’ve changed a local preference on another instance of Content Manager. This option might be useful if users work from multiple computers.
- Automatically add User Stamp when using 'Add Note' feature - select this option to automatically add the User Stamp when a user adds a note to an object using the Add Notes option.
- Ignore accents on characters (treats garçon and garcon as identical words)* - treats words in text fields with accents the same as words without accents.
NOTE: If you are using SQL Text Indexing (see Content Manager Enterprise Studio help - Dataset setup and maintenance - SQL Text Index for further information) this option will be disabled but will display the state selected during the SQL Text Index and/or dataset creation process.
- Automatically generate thumbnail renditions for records with an electronic document* - Content Manager will create a .jpg format rendition for every electronic record displayed in WebDrawer.
- Warn when an external add-in fails to operate correctly* - displays a message when an add-in fails.
- Optimise queries containing content clauses - enabled by default - when selected and at least one document content search clause method is present the optimizer will attempt to produce a single query that can be handled fully by either Elasticsearch or IDOL. If it cannot optimise the entire search, then it reverts to performing a separate content index search and combines the results with the results of the other search methods.
- Add extended diagnostics to Office integration log files - enabled by default - this option increases the diagnostics of the Office integration to include the user's interactions with Content Manager dialogs/messages, for example clicking OK on a message, and captures these to the generated log files.
- Make an entry into notes mandatory on recycle - select this option to make adding an entry to record notes a mandatory option when moving the record to the Recycle Bin.
