Editing a record
Editing an electronic document locally (Only on iOS)
NOTE: Make sure that you have third party or dependency applications configured on your mobile to access and edit the documents.
For you to edit a document, you need to first checkout the document. You can checkout and edit only Office documents, such as, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
To check out and then edit a document, perform the following steps:

Navigate and access the record you want to edit.

Click
menu option and then selectCheckout or Check Out To OneDrive. NOTE: The option Checkout is available only for iOS.

Perform one of the following:

For Checkout
This option allows you to edit the document on your mobile.

A pop-up dialog informing that you can open the record from Checked Out Documents menu or from the notification tray of your mobile. Click OK.
If you don't want this dialog to appear again, select the Dont show again check box and click OK.
The Checked out property now shows as Checked out in the record property list and the record is available in the Checked Out Documents menu.

Click
menu option and then select Edit. The attachment is opened in the native application for editing.Editing documents in iOS has some limitations. See Limitations of editing a document in iOS.

Update the document accordingly and save your changes.

Check in the record back to Mobile App. See Checking In records.
NOTE: For iOS, once you have Checked In the document back to Mobile App, the document is automatically removed from the Mobile App folder on your iPhone.
The revision of the record is incremented.

For Check Out To OneDrive
This option allows you to edit the document on OneDrive. See Editing an electronic document in OneDrive .

Limitations of editing a document in iOS
In iOS, all the checked out documents are stored in Mobile App folder of your iPhone.
Because of the limitations in iOS, you cannot directly edit an Office document using the Edit option in Mobile App. The following information describes in detail:
Office documents

To edit an Office document for the first time, navigate to the Mobile App folder and click on the document you want to edit. The document will open in the native app for editing.
Non Office documents

To edit a non Office document, use the Edit option in Mobile App that displays a list of applications. Choose the appropriate application to open the document for editing.

Currently, editing a non Office document directly from Mobile App folder on your phone is not supported. Navigating to Mobile App folder and clicking on the document displays the Record Entry Form.
To overcome this limitation, you can either open the non Office document directly from Mobile App for editing or open the native application on your phone first, navigate to Mobile App folder and then select the document you want to edit.
Editing an electronic document in OneDrive
OneDrive option is enabled only for Office documents.
To edit a document in OneDrive, perform the following steps:

Navigate to the record in Mobile App.

Click
menu option and then select Properties to display the properties of the record. -
Click Check Out To OneDrive.
A confirmation dialog is displayed.

Click OK in the confirmation dialog.
A pop-up with status message is displayed in the notification tray.
The document is opened in the native app for editing. The changes are auto saved in OneDrive. Once the document is updated, Check In the document back to Mobile App. See Checking In records.
If the document is not present in OneDrive, it will be copied to OneDrive for editing.
