Viewing documents and images

The Content Manager viewer contains the following commands - these are replicated as toolbar buttons:

  • File menu - contains the following commands:
    • Save As - saves the document being viewed as a new file in the computer location of your choice
    • Launch - opens the document in its associated application
    • Print - prints the electronic document from the Content Manager viewer.
    • Close - closes the Content Manager viewer window.

    NOTE:

    • Deactivating the Print option in the Record Type's Menu page will not affect the ability to print from the Content Manager viewer.
    • The Content Manager viewer is designed as a viewer function, not a print function. Therefore, printing electronic documents from the Content Manager viewer may produce corrupted print. It is advisable to open the document in its associated application instead to ensure a correct printout.
    • Some documents may take longer to print than others, such as large graphic files. If possible, for best printing results, use the original application for printing large and complex files. The document viewing software used by Content Manager is designed for generic viewing and will not achieve the same viewing results compared to original applications. See CM23.4_Spec.pdf in the Content Manager installation folder's Documentation folder for known limitations.

Will be unavailable when the document you are viewing is an image.

  • Window menu:
    • Tile with Content Manager - vertically tiles the Content Manager viewer with Content Manager.

Enables you to see both a list of records in Content Manager and the contents of displayed electronic documents.

    • Pin to Content Manager - keeps the Content Manager viewer constantly attached to the Content Manager window and will automatically make adjustments when window sizes change. This will tile the two windows vertically.
    • Close All Content Manager Windows - closes all open Content Manager viewer windows.
