Consignment Disposal via Command Link
NOTE: This option is also available in the Content Manager Administration client. See the Content Manager Enterprise Studio - Dataset setup and maintenance - Content Manager Administration client help for further information.
Processing of the Dispose function for a consignment can take many days to complete, depending on the complexity of the consignment being processed. To reduce the impact on a user's machine, a command line tool to run the consignment disposal is available so it can be run on a server, or another machine.
To process a consignment using the Command Line Tool, an XML settings file must be created and passed onto an Administrator who will run the process.
To generate the settings file, from the Administration tab in the Content Manager client, in the Disposal group, click Consignment Disposal. The Consignment Disposal dialogue appears.
Dispose tab
- Consignment - from the drop-down list, or click the KwikSelect to search for, select the Consignment to be processed.
- Log File record type - select a Record Type for the checked in log files.
- Log File container - select a container the log files will be saved to.
- Delete the record metadata from the dataset - select this option to delete the record metadata as a part of the Consignment disposal.
- Write the progress summary to the following output file - browse to and select the location the processing summary will be written to.
Configure Logging tab
- Include tagged properties in the Log - select the properties that are to be written to the log file.
- Report all approvals in the log - write all Consignment Approvals to the log file.
Once the Consignment Disposal settings have been configured, click OK. A warning will appear with details of the command line parameters that are required to run the Consignment Disposal via the Administration Command Line Tool and advising that the parameters have been copied to the clipboard. Click OK to run the Consignment Disposal immediately, or if it is to be run on a different machine, click Cancel and the XML settings file will be generated and saved to the, by default, C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Local\Micro Focus\Content Manager\<DBID>\Log\ with the file name ConsignmentDisposalSettings_<consignment>.xml
To process the Consignment on a different machine using the Administration Command Line Tool, the generated XML file must be copied to that machine and the command line parameters updated to point to the location the XML settings file is saved to. See CM10.0_AdminCMDTool.pdf for details on the Content Manager Administration Command Line tool, including the commands required to run the Consignment Disposal process.
