Content Manager Desktop Add-Ins dialogue box

Click File - Desktop Add-Ins to display this dialogue which enables you to integrate Content Manager with Microsoft Office.


Integrating with Content Manager

  • Integrate Content Manager with the following Microsoft Office authoring applications - Content Manager can operate directly with the Microsoft Office applications in this list.

    Select the application to integrate Content Manager with.

    This will enable you to access Content Manager directly from those applications when using Open, Save, Save As and Check in.

    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Microsoft Project
    • Microsoft Outlook
  • For Office Add-Ins, you can choose to use the Native UI dialogs or Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) dialogs.

    You can set the type of dialog using the drop-down options in the Desktop Add-Ins dialogue box or use the Registry Editor.

    Select Use Native Windows dialogs or Use Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) dialogs from the drop-down to set the type.

    OR

    Use Registry Editor. See Setting dialog type using Registry Editor.

  • Test - click to test the integration. When some components have not been registered correctly, Content Manager prompts you to register them.

NOTE: Content Manager will use the same integration options for every dataset you connect to.

Setting dialog type using Registry Editor

  1. Open command prompt and type regedit. The Registry Editor appears.

  2. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Micro Focus\Content Manager\OfficeAddins.

  3. To set the type of dialog to be used for Office Add-Ins, modify the value of UseNativeUI parameter name. Either right-click and select Modify or double-click on UseNativeUI parameter to open the Edit DWORD Value dialog.

    Setting the Value Data of UseNativeUI to 0 (false) enables WPF dialogs and setting it to 1 (true) enables Native UI dialogs.

  4. Click OK in the dialog and close the Registry Editor.
