Disposal Suitability

Before undertaking any disposal action on a container, the Disposal Suitability method determines if any of the contained items are not suitable or are not ready for disposal. For example, a container may have one or two documents on hold, or it may have a document that has a later due date for destruction.

Log all Records Disposal Suitability to file - nominate the location of the log file. Any errors are written to this file if you attempted to dispose of this container using the nominated criteria below.

Use the disposal method of the Record - apply the current disposal method of the container to the contained items

Use the disposal method below - apply a disposal method from the drop down list

Perform the disposal check using this date - apply a nominated date to the contained items to test their disposal suitability.

Write the disposal suitability results for the selected records to the log file:

  • Selected records only - write only the results of the selected records ing the disposal suitability log file.
  • Contents of selected records only - write only the results of the contents of the selected records to the log file.
  • Selected records and contents - write the results of both the records and contents to the log file.
