LDAP Server Configurations dialogue box
The LDAP Server Configuration dialogue box contains a list of LDAP servers as well as the options for scheduling automated synchronisations. From this dialogue, Content Manager Administrators can configure the synchronisation against multiple LDAP servers, as well as defining new LDAP Servers, and updating existing ones.
The available options are:
- Add - add a new blank LDAP server configuration. Type in the name of the new LDAP Server. To configure the server details, click Edit and the Directory Synchronisation LDAP Server Properties is displayed.
- Copy - copy an existing LDAP server configuration
- Delete - delete the LDAP server configuration
- Edit - displays the LDAP Server Properties dialog to allow editing of the LDAP server configuration. See Directory Synchronisation LDAP Server Properties for details.
- Export - export the LDAP server configuration to a XML file
- Import - import the LDAP server configuration from a XML file
There are also right-click menu options available on the LDAP server configuration name:
- Run - run a manual synchronisation against the selected LDAP server configuration
- Run All - run a manual synchronisation against all the listed LDAP server configurations
- Move Up/Move Down - change the order of the LDAP server configurations. When a synchronisation is run, it processes the LDAP servers in the order they are listed.
Synchronization Schedule
Enable Scheduled Synchronisation - allows Directory Synchronisation be performed unattended, on a regular schedule, by a dedicated event process. This schedule applies to all LPAP server configurations, so when an automated synchronisation is run, all enabled LDAP server configurations are run.
Set the date and time the synchronisation is to be first run, and also set the ongoing intervals, in Hours, the synchronisation will be run after the initial processing.
NOTE: It is possible to exclude a LDAP server configuration from automated runs, by clearing the Enable Scheduled Synchronisation option on the Synchronisation tab in the settings for a particular LDAP server configuration.
NOTE: The Directory Synchronisation event process must be enabled in Content Manager Enterprise Studio.
