System Options Container page

  • When adding a record to a container, display a warning if:
    • The selected container is closed - select to display a warning if a user attempts to add a record to a closed container.
    • The selected container is a copy of another record - select to display a warning if a user attempts to add a record to a container that is a copy of another record.
    • The selected container has been superseded by another record - select the options to display a warning to user when they are adding records to containers.
  • Optimise management of contained records to allow for very large folder sizes - select for Content Manager to recognise large folders (with over 256 documents directly contained in them) and optimise its behaviour when working with them.

    CAUTION: Before selecting this option, you should review the topic Large folders, which describes the limitations and the significant impact this option has on other functions, which enables you to make an informed decision whether you should implement large folder behaviour in Content Manager.

  • Apply standard containment rules when adding records to an alternate container - enabling this option means that the various containment rules are applied to alternate containers as well. If this option is not enabled, will ignore standard container level rules, as described in Record Type General page.
  • Automatically renumber a record when moved to a new container - if using the Based on Container numbering pattern, select this option to automatically update a record's number to match the container number of its new container.
  • When closing a container:
    • Allow a container to be closed when some contents are currently checked out - select this option to allow a container to be closed even though some of its contained records are in a checked out state.
    • Allow a container to be closed when some contents have actions in progress - select this option to allow a container to be closed when some of its contained records have uncompleted actions.
    • Allow a container to be closed when some contents are not enclosed - select this option to allow a container to be closed when some of the contained records are not enclosed within it.

  • Cascade additional fields values from container when creating new records - select this option to allow records to inherit additional fields from the container during the creation process of new records.
