Action tracking permissions by user type
The rules that apply to users who have access to Action tracking.
- Creating, modifying and removing Actions and Procedures - only users with Actions Administration permission can create, modify or remove Actions and Procedures from the list of Actions and Procedures.
See Creating Locations.
- Modifying or removing attached Actions - only users with Actions Administration permission can modify or remove an attached Action. Modifications include changes to Action start, due and end date and time and responsibility.
To modify responsibility, you need Reassign Actions or Activities permission.

- Completing Actions - a user can only complete Actions when they are either user type Administrator, a user with Actions Administration and/or Reassign Actions or Activities permission or the Action is assigned to them
- Adding or Editing Notes on an Action - if a user has permission to reassign actions and permissions to modify the metadata of the record and if they are the responsible location to complete the action, they will have full access to the Notes; if they are not the responsible location to complete the action they will only be able to append Notes. If a user does not have the required permissions the Notes will be read only.
