System Options Barcodes page
If you have imported data or an existing dataset into Content Manager and you want to print a barcode label for an existing record - the original barcode for the record before it was imported into Content Manager - then the following options enable you to determine how to use it:
- Print Content Manager Barcode - uses the new Content Manager barcode and enables you to retain the original barcode
- Print Content Manager Barcode, Clear Any Foreign Barcode - uses the new Content Manager barcode for the existing record and removes the original barcode when the new Content Manager barcode is printed. Default.
NOTE: If you select Clear Any Foreign Barcode, then when you next print a barcode for a record - for example, a file cover label, Content Manager will discard the original barcode number for that record, if applicable. If this applies to you, please ensure that you add the barcode to the record, as Content Manager will no longer recognise the original foreign barcode.
- Print Foreign Barcode, if it exists - uses the original barcode rather than the Content Manager barcode
You can select the following functions when printing other types of barcodes, for example, Locations:
- Print Content Manager Barcode - uses the new Content Manager barcode and enables you to retain the original barcode
- Print Content Manager Barcode, Clear Any Foreign Barcode - default - uses the new Content Manager barcode for the existing item and removes the original barcode when the new Content Manager barcode is printed
- Print Foreign Barcode, if it exists - uses the original barcode rather than the Content Manager barcode
