Boolean Additional Fields
A Boolean field appears as a selection box on objects and has two modes.
For example,
- Yes / No
- On / Off
- 0 / 1
Once you have selected this format, the following option becomes available:
- Default to Yes - sets a default value that will appear in the field when it is used for an object
NOTE: About default values
- When you create a new Boolean type Additional Field and assign it to a Record Type with a default of No and another user subsequently searches for records, the search will return all records except for records with a value of Yes
- When you create the Additional Field with a default of Yes, then existing records will retain their original value, for example No. You will have to manually change the records to Yes if that is the required default for the existing records. Any new records will be set to the default of Yes.
- When you create a Boolean type Additional Field and assign it to a Record Type and No is specified in a search, the search will return all records where No is specified.
- Set the field's default value to No and the function will change any existing Yes values to No but will not add a No row if the Additional Field was not previously used for that record.
