Command line parameters

You can use command line parameters in a shortcut to start Content Manager Desktop with particular dialogue boxes open:

  1. Right-click your desktop and on the New menu, click Shortcut
  2. Click Browse and select your Content Manager installation folder.

    By default, this is "C:\Program Files\Content Manager \TRIMDesktop.exe".

  3. Click in the field where you can see the file path and press END on your keyboard
  4. With the cursor at the end of the line, type a space and the command line parameter you want to use.

    The line should now look similar to this one: "C:\Program Files\Content Manager \TRIMDesktop.exe" -w1.

  5. Click Next, type a name for the shortcut or just click Finish.

    You will now find the new shortcut on your desktop or where you chose to create it.

Double-click the shortcut to start Content Manager Desktop in a particular screen.

Content Manager Desktop has these command line parameters that you can use like in the example above with a space, a hyphen and the parameter details:

  • w1 - displays the Search dialogue
  • w2 - displays the Offline Records
  • w3 - displays the Recent Documents
  • w4 - displays the Classification Browser
  • w5 - displays the Favorite Records
  • w6 - displays the Records Work Tray
  • w7 - displays the Recent Containers
  • w8 - displays the Records Due
  • w9 - displays the Records In
  • w10 - displays the Records In or Due
  • w12 - displays the Document Template
  • w13 - displays the Document Content Block
  • w14 - displays the Explorer
  • y - starts Content Manager Desktop in Offline mode
