Date fields behaviour
Content Manager uses the computer date, time and date/time formats.
When you type a date without spaces or any other form of separator and it is six or eight digits long, then Content Manager assumes it to be either YYMMDD or YYYYMMDD.
Examples:
- 130200 in international format or 021300 in US format - the day of the month would be zero and Content Manager would return an Incorrect Date message
- 130201 - Content Manager reads the date as 1st February 2013
- 021301 - Content Manager reads the date as 1stday of the thirteenth month in 2002 and return a Incorrect Date message
Date fields also contain a Time field allowing you to set specific times or further refine searches to specific times.
You can access the Time field from the Date field using the RIGHT and LEFT ARROW keys.
Enter the time using a colon (:) or a stop (.) to separate the hours, minutes and seconds. Enter PM at the end of the time to identify any time after 12 AM, for example, 4:20 PM.
Content Manager will automatically interpret what you enter; for example, when you type 4.2, Content Manager will interpret this as 4:02 AM.
Search time fields will show the seconds in the description when Content Manager automatically interprets the data and verifies the field.
To specify seconds in the time field, you must type the exact number. For example, to search for records created between 7:02:00 and 7:02:59, type in exactly that.
A search for Date Created on 10/26/2002 at 7:02 PM will not find records created at 7:02:59.
The date fields also have a calendar button that enables you to select a specific date from the Calendar dialogue box.
See Calendar.
It also contains a drop-down list with predefined dates.
You can enter the time in 12-hour or 24-hour format.
Content Manager will display it in the format set up in Microsoft Windows.
If you omit am or pm in the 12-hour format, the default is am.
For example:
1/2/06
or
01/02/2006
or, for Date and Time fields
01/02/2006 9:21:42 AM
NOTE: Long date formats, for example, Wednesday 1stOctober 2006, are not supported in Content Manager DataPort.
