External Links
The external links function enables you to define an external application that is to receive information from any number of specified Content Manager fields. On the Administration menu, click External Links.
The external link function enables you to set up the external executables (applications) and their parameters.
IMPORTANT: The complexity and quantity of external link add-ins can sometimes cause performance issues in Content Manager. It is recommended that such implementations be tested thoroughly before being put into production.
NOTE: The application that the Content Manager data is being sent to must be capable of using the data. If it cannot, then users will need to write a macro or application to use the SDK fields sent by the external link function. To do this, you will need to use the Content Manager Software Development Kit (SDK). Additional information on the SDK can be found:
