Extracting and copying electronic documents
- Checking it out - when a document has been checked out, Content Manager takes a copy of the document and adds it to a Windows folder or Content Manager Offline Records.
The document then can be accessed and edited as required.
When the document is returned or checked back into Content Manager, it will be checked back in under the same record number.
- Supercopy - Content Manager takes a copy of the document and adds it to a holding area.
You can then access the document.
You cannot check a supercopy back into Content Manager under the same record number and must check it in as a new document.
TIP: You can create a supercopy by dragging a document out of Content Manager to another application, such as Windows Explorer or Microsoft Outlook.
