Setting or changing containers
There are different methods of putting records in containers:
- Using the right-click menu Locations - Containers command - see below.
- Changing the Assignee Location - Adding records to containers by dragging.
- When creating a record.
The Container field must be on the New Record form.
This dialogue box dynamically indicates in the note whether the record is Enclosed in its container and its Assignee.
- Search for a record that you want to put into a container or change the container of
- Right-click and select Locations - Container.
The Record Container dialogue box appears.
- Set Container To - will show the record's container when it has been set.
If there is an old container number, select and delete it and type the container record number or use KwikSelect to choose it.
- Enclose the Record Now - select to enclose the record immediately.
If you do not, Content Manager allocates the record to the container but will not enclose it.
Therefore, it will only inherit certain metadata from the container record, for example, the Home Location.
This is useful when you may not want to enclose the record when it creating it.

- Remove Record From Container - removes the record from the container.
Does not remove the record from the dataset.
- Set Container To - will show the record's container when it has been set.
- Click OK
