Transferring documents between stores
You can transfer documents from one store to another. This process ensures that all the links to these documents are kept accurate. This process will transfer ALL the documents in the selected store.
This process moves all documents from one store to another.
- On the Administration menu, click Document Stores and in case the document store is Manage in Place, then click Manage in Place Adaptors.
The Document Stores or Manage in Place Adaptors dialogue box appears.
- Right-click the store you want to transfer documents from and select Transfer Documents.
A Transfer Documents to Another Document Store - *** dialogue box appears.
- Transfer to Document Store - type the store name or use KwikSelect to select the store to transfer the documents to
- Correct any errors that are encountered - automatically corrects any errors encountered in the transfer process
- Confirm errors before correcting - will prompt you to confirm error messages before correcting them
- Treat any pending asynchronous transfers as missing documents - select for Content Manager to treat records in pending asynchronous transfers as missing
- Restrict data transfer to (megabytes) - restrict the transfer of data to a selected number
- Processing log file - select the log file that will record the transfer process
- Only log errors - select this option only to log errors that occur during the transfer process
- Processing buffer size - set the processing batch buffer size. After each batch is processed details of the last item in the batch are saved, along side the transfer settings, to the registry. If the transfer does not finish successfully when you run it again, the restart settings from the registry, together with intermediate processing data required to execute a restart, are read and a message is displayed confirming if the user wants to restart the failed run. The processing will start from the item immediately after the last successfully processed item.
- Run in multi-threaded mode - select this option to run the transfer as a multi-threaded process.
- Number of threads - set the number of threads.
- Thread processing timeout (seconds) - set the timeout limit for each thread. If a thread fails to make any progress in it's work queue within this time frame, this setting will cut in.
- Click OK.
