Record Type Menu page

The Record Type Properties - Menu page enables you to modify the available menu options available on the right-click menu for records created using this Record Type.

By default, all tasks are available. You will need to determine which tasks you want to allow for the selected Record Type.

TIP: By default, the list is in function order. You can change the column display order by clicking the column header, please note the child items are not sorted.

To display or hide menu options on the record right-click menu:

  1. Expand the menu category and tag the menu option(s) to make them available on the record right-click menu, or untag the option(s) so they will not be available on the record right-click menu.

TIP: Right-click on a menu category heading and two options are available to allow for bulk tagging or untagging the child menu options within that category. Click Tag all subordinate tasks to select all child menu options, or click Untag all subordinate tasks to unselect all child menu options that are within the selected category.

NOTE: These options are Record Type specific and will only apply to records created using this Record Type.

NOTE: Record tasks set by Record Type - when the Record Type task Set the Assignee of the selected Records is untagged, you can still modify the Assignee in some of the record Properties pages, for example, Action page. The tasks function hides the task commands, e.g. right-click Locations - Assignee commands on a record. It does not prevent users from setting the Assignee using the New Record form or the SDK

TIP: The column Page hidden when menu disabled displays what default Record page will be removed from the Record Properties dialog if the menu option(s) is disabled. If the page is required, but the menu option is not, disable the menu options on the Menu page, and add the associated page to the Record Type Form page. The page will then be available when creating or modifying a record using this Record Type, but the right-click menu options will not be.

NOTE: If there is at least one incomplete Action attached to the record, the Record Actions page will be displayed even if the associated menu options are disabled.

NOTE: Review Schedule task - if you clear the option to perform an archiving review on records of this Record Type, the right-click menu Archiving - Review Schedule does no longer appear.

For example, when you apply a Retention Schedule to a contained record, if the schedule is more severe or undeterminable, then a message advises that the container should be reviewed.

However, if that container is of a Record Type where you do not have Review Schedule selected, then you will be unable to perform the review.

This may be useful in those situations where, for example, you have Folder and Box Record Types and you may want to apply Retention Schedules to both, but only have the boxes reviewed, as the folders belong in boxes.
