Classification Numbering page
Each record created in a Classification plan must have a unique number.
You can use an automatic variable record numbering pattern to provide unique numbers for your records.
The Classification plan numbering system uses placeholders to represent variable numbers, letters or dates in the Classification plan.

The Numbering page displays the compressed and expanded (uncompressed) versions of the full identifying number of the Classification as well as the current level's portion of the number.
This is the full number that will be used as the record number when a new record is created with this Classification.
- Value - the level number used by this Classification.
Click KwikSelect to change it by using the Enter new number for this Classification dialogue box according to the pattern set by the top level Classification.
- Allow new records to be attached to this Classification - enables users to attach new records to this Classification.
Select to define:
- Pattern - the numbering pattern to be used for records attached to this Classification
- Start Numbering After - Content Manager will use the numbers after this one for records created at this level.
Depending on the pattern you set, you can also use this field to specify the special characters you want Content Manager to use within the record number by clicking KwikSelect and using the Enter Formatted Number or Confirm Number dialogue boxes.
- Allow creation of new lower levels of this Classification - select to enable users to create new subordinate (child) levels below this one and, if so, what the pattern and starting numbers of the child level will be
- Start Numbering After - click KwikSelect to display the Enter Formatted Number or Confirm Number dialogue box to specify the last number used for this level.
Content Manager will use the numbers following the one you enter.
