System Options Search Methods page

The Search Methods page enables you to make selected search methods unavailable to all users - including users with user type Administrator.

When a search is blocked for a user, it does not appear for them in the drop-down box when they select a search method.

To use this dialogue to manage the blocked search methods, you need Search Administrator permission.

You can make the blocked search methods available to selected users by giving them the permission Bypass Blocked Search Methods.

To display the Search Methods page, in Content Manager on the Administration tab, click System Options then select Search Methods.

1. Under When searching for, select the Content Manager item to block a search for
2. Select the search method in the Available search methods field
3. Click Add to move it to the Blocked search methods section

To make it available again, click Remove.
