Lower level Classification numbering

Subordinate Classification numbering sets up the numbering pattern for the Classifications that you create underneath a Classification.

For example, in a Classification structure with

  • Accommodation as top level item
  • Domestic as second level item
  • General as third level item,

Content Manager will number Domestic and the Classifications in the same position in the hierarchy according to the settings in Accommodation's properties.

Domestic's properties determine the numbering for General and other direct sub-level items.

Each Classification in a Classification plan must have a unique name and number.

You can use an automatically generated subordinate Classification pattern to create unique numbers for your records.

The Classification plan numbering system uses placeholders to represent variable numbers, letters or dates in the Classification plan.
