Location Jump
The Jump function brings you directly to the Location that is one level above the currently selected Location.
To use Jump:
- Right-click a Location that is part of a higher level Location, e.g. a Person that is part of a Workgroup.
- From the Search menu, click Jump.
The parent Location appears in a new window.
- Persons are linked to Positions
- Positions are linked to Organisations
- Organisations may be linked to higher level Organisations, for example, Units within a division within an agency
Persons may be linked directly to an Organisation - that is, not linked to a Position.
All the above may also be linked to Groups, Workgroups, Committees or Project Teams.
For Persons linked to both a Position and an Organisation, Jump will display both.
For example,
- If you have selected a Person (Staff), Jump will display the Person's Position, if linked
- If you have selected a Person (Staff), Jump will display the Person's Organisation, if linked
- If you have selected a Position, Jump will display the Position's Organisation, if linked
- If you have selected an Organisation, Jump will display the next Organisation level up, if linked
Groups and Workgroups work with Jump and will display any groups that the Location is a member of.
