OCR tab

The IDOL Media Server is an optional component of the IDOL installation that can be used to optimize the performance of document rendering. The IDOL Media Server enables IDOL to extract text from images using optical character recognition (OCR) to add it to the document content index. This tab displays the IDOL Media Server details for this dataset. See also CM23.4_IDOL_DCI_Install_Config.pdf.

To utilize the OCR rendering feature, organizations must be licensed for both Document Rendering and OCR Image Processing and the feature Document Render must be selected in the System Options - Features tab.

  • OCR Server Name - default: localhost. The computer where the IDOL Media Server is installed.
  • OCR Server Port - default: 14000. The main port configured for the IDOL Media Server to use.
  • Use OEM encrypted communications - default: enabled with the OEM IDOL license. Disable if you are using Enterprise IDOL and require communications outside of Content Manager.
