Identification dialog box

Right-click a dataset and click Properties to see this dialog box.

The Identification dialog box is also the first dialog box in the Create or Register New Dataset dialogs.

  • Dataset Name - a name that describes your Content Manager dataset.

All users of the dataset will be able to see this name; it should be a meaningful descriptor.

  • Dataset Identifier - each Content Manager dataset must have a unique two-character identifier.

Choose an identifier that is not yet in use. This can be any two alphanumeric characters.

If you are registering an existing dataset, use the same database identifier.
  • SQL Dataset Type - only available when you are creating a new dataset for Content Manager. Identifies which database system you will be accessing with this dataset and what interface Content Manager will use to do this.

    Choose from the following options:

    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • Oracle
    • PostgreSQL

Within the dialog, click Next to continue to the Connection dialog box.

If you have just made changes to an existing dataset, click OK to save them.
