Monitor Event Processing dialog box

Monitor enables you to monitor event processing for a dataset.

Monitor will not show detailed information about all events that have been processed in the past.

The main purpose of the monitor function is to check whether the server is operating and what it is doing.

You can monitor processing for multiple Workgroup Servers.

  1. Expand Datasets
  2. Right-click a dataset and from the Event Processing menu, select Monitor.

The Monitor Event Processing dialog box appears with the current event processing data.

    • Refresh every - refresh rate for the data
    • Workgroup column - Workgroup Server
    • Processor column - processor on the Workgroup Server
    • Status column - the status of the current process
    • Queued column - number of queued events waiting for server processing
    • Processed column - number of processed events
    • Errors column - number of event errors
    • Timer Events column - number of events that occur because they were set to occur at a particular time, for example when a record disposition has changed
    • Timer Errors column - number of time based event errors
    • Last Error Event Details column - not showing by default.

These events are the same that have been activated in the Configuring event processing dialog box, for example, word indexing, document content indexing, audit logs, mail notifications, Schedule Event triggers and user defined.

NOTE: Each message/transaction may consist of multiple events.

Below the list box area, the monitor shows:

  • Number of events that are assigned to invalid workgroups
  • Number of events that are assigned to processes not configured
  • Number of events that require conversion to new schema

When the monitor shows unallocated events in this list, the Repair button becomes available.

Click it for Content Manager Enterprise Studio to attempt a repair of the events so they can be processed.

You will see a message whether the repair was successful.

NOTE: The monitor does not show events that have been deactivated.
