Setting up Content Manager in a replicated database environment

After creating a read-only replica, you now need to setup the Workgroup Server to use it. This is done through an alternate connection string.

  1. In Content Manager Enterprise Studio, right-click the Workgroup Server and click Properties
  2. Click the Dataset Replication tab
  3. Select the dataset for the primary database and double-click on it to display the Replication of <dataset> on <computer> dialog box
  4. Check Replicated using the connection string
  5. Use the KwikSelect to build the connection string for the read-only replica of the primary database. The Connection Settings dialog displayed will depend on what dataset type is selected, the options are
    1. For Microsoft SQL Server - see Connection Settings dialog box for SQL Server
    2. For Oracle, see Connection Settings dialog box for Oracle
    3. For PostgreSQL, see Connection Settings dialog box for PostgreSQL
  6. Click OK to save the settings
