External Icons

External icons allows organizations to register their own icons (.ico file) that can be attached to any Content Manager object that supports a custom icon, such as:

  • Record Types
  • Lookup Sets
  • Lookup Set items
  • External Links
  • Saved Searches
  • Field Definitions
  • User Labels
  • External Workflows
  • Custom shortcut icons in the ribbon

Creating External Icons

  1. From the Administration tab, in the Setup group, click External Icons. The External Icons window appears.
  2. Right-click in the External Icons window and click New External Icon. The New External Icon dialogue is displayed.
    • Name - type in the name of the new External Icon.
    • Source - optional - type in the source of the icon, this may be the name of the organization or person who designed the icon.
    • File Name - using the KwikSelect, browse to the location and select the .ico file.
  3. Click OK to save the new icon.

The new external icon will be available to select on the objects that support custom icons.
