Managing Location Associations

This option allows you to apply a bulk update on Location associations for a number of selected Locations, rather than having to update a single Location at a time using the Location's properties - Associations tab.

To update locations associations:

  1. Search for and tag the locations that are to be updated.
  2. Right-click on the locations and click Manage Associations. The Manage the associations dialogue box appears.

NOTE: If a single location is selected, this dialogue box will have only one column available; if multiple locations were selected, there will be two columns: Associations to be added and Associations to be removed.

Updating a single location

  1. On the Manage the associations dialogue box, expand the association to be updated.
  2. To remove existing associations, select the location name, or tag multiple locations, and then click Remove. The location(s) will be removed from the Association type.

    NOTE: You can expand multiple association types and tag locations within different the association types to remove multiple locations in one update.

  3. To add a new association, click Add and the Search from... dialogue box will appear.
  4. Search for the Location(s) to be associated to the selected location, and either select or tag multiple locations from the search results list, then click OK.
  5. Update any other associations types as required.
  6. Click OK to save the changes.

Updating multiple locations

To add new associations, on the Manage the associations dialogue box, expand the association type to be updated in the Associations to be added column.

  1. Click Add and the Search from... dialogue box will appear.
  2. Search for the Location(s) to be associated to the selected location, and either select or tag multiple locations from the search results list, then click OK.
  3. Update any other associations types as required.
  4. Click OK to save the changes.

To remove a known location from an association type, on the on the Manage the associations dialogue box, expand the association type to be updated in the Associations to be removed column.

  1. Click Add and the Search from... dialogue box will appear.
  2. Search for the Location(s) to be removed from the association type, and either select or tag multiple locations from the search results list, then click OK.
  3. Click OK to save the changes.

If a location is added to either the Associations to be added column or the Associations to be removed column in error, before the change is saved, you can select the location and click Remove to ensure the location will not be added or removed to the association type on save.
